Urgent Clarification Needed – Overlapping Charges
Hello, I recently transitioned to a new month-to-month Telus internet plan. I was quoted $63/month, effective May 1 to May 31. However, my account still shows a charge of approximately $200 for the period April 28 to May 27. This results in 27 days of overlap between the two billing cycles. When I called customer service for clarification, I was informed that I would still be billed the full amount on May 19 for the April 28–May 27 period. This means I’m being charged twice for most of May, which seems neither fair nor legal. Additionally, I attempted to cancel my Telus service to switching to a more affordable service, but was told that I wouldn’t receive a refund for any overlapping days and that service cancellation cannot take effect the day of the request. I’m concerned about being stuck paying two providers for May, despite clearly initiating a switch. Does anyone has experience this before? It doesnt seem very legal to charge double or not to let me cancel the service890Views0likes3Comments
