After being canceled in 2020 and postponed earlier this year, Canada’s National Women’s Hockey Team is finally embarking on its quest for gold at the 2021 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Women’s World Championship in Calgary this month. The puck drops on August 20, when the best teams in the world will compete for gold. TELUS is proud to support women’s hockey while continuing to keep Canadians connected to the game we love.
Raise the Game showcases what it means to take things to the next level – on and off the ice – while reinforcing our ongoing commitment to give where we live. It helps to connect more Canadians to their communities, favourite teams, and each other through sport including:
- Supporting women in sport: We’re proud to help get more girls and women on the ice to reach their full potential and increase visibility of the women’s game. We partnered with the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association for the Canadian leg of the Dream Gap Tour and their quest to create a sustainable, cross-border professional women’s hockey league.
- Leveraging our world-leading technology to elevate the fan experience: We’re encouraging fans to raise their game. Fans won’t miss any Team Canada action by tuning in on Optik TV or on the go.
From August 20-31, Optik TV is the best way to experience the Women’s Worlds while you cheer on Team Canada from your home. Go Canada Go!
