Prime Video on TELUS - September 2023
September is here, and the summer is winding down. As the days get shorter, there's nothing better than kicking back and checking out that new movie your coworkers keep talking about, or checking out the latest episodes of your favourite series. Prime Video is the place to be for both, and next month brings a slew of great new content to dig into, including the premiere of a show based one of my all-time favourite movie series. I can't wait!

The Continental (Season 1)
I'm so hyped for this! Set in the John Wick universe, this prequel series takes place before the all-time action classic movies starring Keanu Reeves, with a younger Winston taking over the fabled hotel. As we all know, The Continental is one of the safe havens for the ruthless assassins of the world; a neutral ground where no violence is to take place. Needless to say, that doesn't mean it won't be happening. If you love the John Wick series as much as me, you'll definitely need to check out this three part mini-series!
Wow, that looks incredible. Set in 1970's New York, this spinoff centers around the younger Winston Scott and Charon as they find their place as the heralds of the titular hotel. It looks like the creators really paid homage to the fantastic action sequences in the movies, and I can't wait to see the younger versions of these beloved characters when the first episode of The Continental drops on Prime Video September 22. Don't miss it!

The Super Mario Bros. Movie
If you didn't know, one of the best animated movies of all time is currently streaming on Prime Video, and you'd be foolish not to check it out. You don't even really need to be a hardcore gamer to know who the Super Mario Bros. are, and if you are...even better! Packed with TONS of references to the all-time classic video game series, and a cast of voice talent that match their characters perfectly, The Super Mario Bros. Movie makes for a great time.
I loved this movie so much, that I had to watch it a second time to see if there was anything I missed upon first viewing...and there definitely was! It's perfect for the kids, but make no mistake...it's a top tier comedy as well, so if you just need a hilarious way to spend the evening after a long day, you can't go wrong. With a star-studded voice cast including Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, Seth Rogen, and Fred Armisen...we can all finally spend some time in Mushroom Kingdom!
