Coming to Prime Video in September

  • September 2 - The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power (Season 1)

You can't get much bigger than this. It's been years since the Peter Jackson directed trilogy of films, and finally we get to return to Middle-earth in the epic series The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power. Based of course on the world created by J.R.R. Tolkien, this new series takes place thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and main The Lord of The Rings trilogy of stories. During a time of relative peace, we'll witness all the major events of Middle-earth's 'Second Age' (which was only described after the fact in the original stories). These events shaped Middle-earth as we all know it now, from the rise of Sauron, to the creation of the Rings of Power, to the early wars of the Rings between Sauron himself and the Elves.

How epic does that look? It's obvious that the move to television spared no expense in scope, budget, and cinematic feel. This looks like the movies we've all come to love, and it's easy to see why Amazon paid so much to acquire the rights to do this world justice. Featuring consultants and much of the crew from the film series, and with a multi-season commitment (heavily rumored to be a five season run), this series looks to be something you just can't miss. If you're a fan of The Lord of The Rings, or a fan of fantasy in general and always wanted to check out what this universe is all about, you know where to be. Witness Middle-earth in a time that changes everything, only on Prime Video. September 2. Be there!
