Netflix on TELUS - March 2022
March is almost here, and NETFLIX is ready to drop another round of great new movies and shows to binge on. From great new comedies to the return of some highly anticipated shows, I can't wait to binge it all. Let's take a look at the great titles headed our way, as well as what I'm hooked on now!
Coming To NETFLIX in March
Most Anticipated
Black Crab
I've been waiting for this movie since first hearing about it last year, and I'm so pumped that it's almost here! It's no secret that I love post-apocalyptic sci-fi movies that take place in the present or near-future, and if you do too then you've come to the right place. Black Crab takes place in a post-apocalyptic world torn apart by climate change and war. Starring the amazing Noomi Rapace (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Prometheus) as one of six covert special forces soldiers who are sent on a dangerous mission across the frozen sea to transport a mysterious package they've been told will end the world war.
The catch? These soldiers aren't told what is in the package. They've never met before. They hardly know what's happening in the war and how this mysterious package will end it. Yet, they must carry out this mission in the dead of night on skates over the frozen ocean. Unaware, they set off...not knowing who they can trust or what they're carrying. Talk about a suspenseful premise! I've always felt these movies need a solid story right out of the gate to even hold my attention, and Black Crab certainly has it.
This movie looks like it has just the right amount of horror and action to make for a great time. I love Noomi Rapace and the gravity she brings to every role, and I'm sure this will be no different. These movies really make you ponder how you'd handle being in the same situation, and I can't wait to see how this unfolds. Look for Black Crab to hit NETFLIX on March 18!
What I'm Watching Now
Murderville
Don't let the name throw you...sure this miniseries is about homicide detectives cracking cases, but it's the funniest thing I've seen in a long time! All six episodes of Murderville are about grizzled homicide detective Terry Seattle (the always funny Will Arnett) as he tries to solve a new murder mystery...the catch being that his partner is a new celebrity every episode. Oh, and that these celebrities are the only ones not given a script. They have to improvise their lines and react to what's happening on the spot! It's a hilarious premise and it plays out even funnier than expected.
How hilarious does that look? Featuring great celebrities from Conan O'Brien to Ken Jeong to NFL legend Marshawn Lynch, it's amazing to watch how they react to each case. The funniest parts for me are when the actors (and celebrity guest) are clearly doing everything they can to not break character, despite the comedy happening around them. More than once I found myself needing to rewind a scene just to watch it again. The interrogation scene with Conan O'Brien and the magician is possibly the best thing I've seen in years.
All six episodes are streaming on NETFLIX now and you owe it to yourself to kick back and enjoy the funniest show in a long time. Be sure to check it out.
