Crave on TELUS - March 2023
Hello again, friends! Hope everyone's doing well and having a great spring! If you're not aware, the Crave + Movies + HBO package on Optik TV is the place to be for must-see HBO and Showtime series, amazing Crave originals, and of course the latest and greatest Hollywood blockbusters. Get caught up on the almost endless catalogue of classic HBO shows like Billions, The Handmaid's Tale, and Game of Thrones. Everything is also available via On Demand, online, and through the Crave app. How awesome is that?
Let's see what's headed our way in March. Two big series are returning and I'm pumped!
Most Anticipated
Yellowjackets (Season 2)
Finally, Yellowjackets returns! I've been waiting for this ever since the crazy cliffhanger ending of the first season and it looks like the wait will be worth it! Featuring an all-star female cast led by Juliette Lewis and Christina Ricci, Yellowjackets is the smash hit survival epic meets psychological drama/horror. For the uninitiated, this series is the saga of a team of talented high school soccer players who crash land deep in the remote northern wilderness. The first season detailed their initial struggle to survive as they slowly descended into savage clans (think Lord of The Flies), while also flashing forward 25 years into the future. In the future, we see the grown women struggle with what happened to them, while also realizing that what began in the wilderness is far from over.
I loved the first season and couldn't wait to hear news of a renewal so when a second season was greenlit, I was over the moon. This is one of the most tense character-driven horror dramas I've ever seen and it's so well acted that you won't be able to turn away. Seeing how the grown up team struggles with what occurred back when they were stranded and what became of some of them as the years went by is thrilling to watch. The first episode drops Friday March 24, with new episodes dropping every Friday. Don't miss it!
Succession (Season 4)
What needs to be said about the great Succession that hasn't already? Drowning in Emmy awards, with a top notch cast and unbeatable story...you know where I'll be on Sunday March 26 when the first of 10 new episodes drops. The amazing Brian Cox returns as media scion Logan Roy, dealing with the aftermath of the sale of his massive media empire. Returning as well is the great Alexander Skarsgård as Lukas Matsson, the buyer of Roy's empire as well as Roy's children...now locked more than ever in a bitter power struggle.
If you enjoyed the first three seasons of Succession then I don't need to explain to you how big this night will be. If you haven't seen it...you still have time to watch the first three seasons (you'll thank me). It's always a great time to grab a drink and your favourite snack, and kick back to see what happens next. The money and power lead this family to its breaking point, and it makes for compelling stuff. Don't miss it when the first episode drops Sunday March 26, with the rest of the season's episodes airing Sunday nights thereafter.
