Also if you find that to be annoying then have someone root your phone, then mod it so Data wont work except for when using MMS (But you will still possibly get the charge every month of $5 because Telus's systems somehow screw up).
Ive got the Galaxy S3 as well and i ran into this issue before too but its fixed now. In order for you to send and recieve picture msgs on the S3 you HAVE to keep Data turned on.... yes that is correct, you HAVE to keep Data on otherwise you cant sen...
