Wired Cameras

MC2
Just Moved In

Moving into a newly built home which is pre-wired for outside cameras. Can the Telus system use these or only wireless? Currently with Vivint and we are not happy with it - cameras often go offline for no apparent reason. Thanks.

Unfortunately as of right now for residential accounts they only offer wireless outdoor cameras. If you can convince them to set up a business account at your address they have access to more equipment like wired outdoor cameras they use ethernet. So if it's wired with old BNC coax they won't work.

Telus does sell alarm.com cameras that can use cat5e and are connected to PoE switch. Or you can get commercial grade NVR whitch cost you more money. Your decision to be made here.
