Pik TV is meant to be used on one 'big TV' only. The support docs state that if you want multiple viewing locations in the home, Optik is the appropriate choice.

that's disappointing. What I would really like is for Telus TV to be available as an app on my Apple TV. I really don't care for the interface on the optik tv and I dislike having to plug in yet another box into my TV. Telus: please consider giving your customers what they really want.

And for that reason I will not use it.
My current setup has everything, including my FREE OTA TV running through my Apple TV. If Telus wants to earn my business for television they need to relinquish some of their desire for total control and allow some of these services a la carte. I'd happily pay $10 for the 23+5 channels if I could work it into my existing setup. Making me pay $100 for a second box, requiring input switches to access the content - when my existing Apple TV is more than capable - that's a business model for 20 years ago... Not 2018.

😉 I'd like....to Like...LOL...it was a thorough and informative post. BUT....I'd be liking having my hopes dashed and reinforcing the proprietary and challenging attitude consumers must deal with, unfairly I might add. All these media outfits make money hand over fist, while we are expected to spend money on every streaming device on the market. I myself have settled on Fire TV with Amazon devices, some Google Chromecast, and a couple older proprietary boxes that will eventually become obsolete.
As much as I would like an Apple TV device, so much is duplicated. I am looking cut the cords and get rid of all set top box devices. To that end I have just started using Pik TV today. 😜 as I worried about, my update date, modern laptop and browser(s) will not play the content as it is demanding Flash Player, which is a technology on the way out. The only way around it would be to use and older yet less secure browser. NOT!
For the record, I am not attacking Telus per se. I am a very long time and loyal customer, and value their quality of services in most instances. I have left most of Shaw in the dust, and this foray into Pik TV is an attempt to find streaming solutions to let me cut their cable out of my life. I just think Telus could still do better.
😊 as a Community Power User if you can contribute something more to this dilemma I might revisit the Like!

Time to step up your game Telus.
Already have my preferred media box with a Shield TV. The whole point is not having to switch between different devices to watch your media. I understand you market it for a single big tv, but would be great to have the option to choose which device instead of the required Pik box.

I cancelled my Pik TV last year for a combination of reasons, including the desire to rationalize all my internet TV through Apple TV Apps. (Yes, I know what the Telus FAQ says about Pik vs Optik)
Telus could get a very easy $10 per month, maybe more (HBO add-on) out of me and many users, just by just letting us use the Pik TV App on an Apple TV.

I know this forum is old, but just wanted to let those who happen to look at it that Pik TV app is available now for Apple TV and works great; haven’t had any issues at all. Also available on iOS devices, as I use it on my iPad regularly when I’m not at home. 🙂
