On Demand - Pik Login vs Optik Login

Hi,

I am trying to determine if I need to purchase Optik TV or Pik TV in the following scenario. There's a particular HGTV show that my wife watches (Home Town) and I've been tasked to find another way to watch episodes on-demand besides StackTV on Amazon Prime Video on our Apple TV device. I've found an archive of previous episodes on the Global TV app. However, if I attempt to use the app to watch the show, I am prompted for an Optik TV login. That's all good, closest I've come so far! What I'm trying to figure out is this: is there such a thing as a Pik TV login, and is it interchangeable with an Optik TV login in this scenario, provided we have subscribed to the HGTV channel, or do I need to purchase and set up Optik TV itself? Either way is fine, just would like to know from Telus or the Community. If someone else who has Pik TV could please try this and let me know, I would be most grateful. For Pik TV, currently you won't be able to log in to third party services yet. I've heard that may change but don't know exactly when.

In the mean time, through Pik TV itself, the On Demand section does have Home Town in it. Doesn't appear that all episodes are currently available though. On Demand on Pik TV has info on 27 episodes (many are airing soon) but only 9 from season 4 are playable. The Global TV app only has season 3 and most of season 4 (19 episodes total) that appear to be playable.

What login are you using for the Global TV app to test with?

I have Optik actually. The on demand content for Pik and Optik appears the same, at least for this one specific show.

The On Demand libraries for Optik and Pik should be the same, provided the channel is available on both services. Not all channels that are available on Optik are available on Pik, but HGTV is available on both.
