Can not order PIK TV unless subscribed to Optic or Fiber

I received an emailed PIK TV promotion and ordered it.  But now, customer services is saying that I need either Optic TV or fiber Ethernet to qualify for PIK TV which is contrary to the email they sent me.   I currently subscribed to Telus 50Mbps Ethernet. 

I am totally confused, can someone from Telus clarify this?

@Toi  PikTV doesn’t require you to have OptikTV. You can only have one or the other (not both). Not sure why customer service is stating false information. You only need internet 15 or better receive PikTV.

To check the status of my order, I called Telus and got hold of someone oversea and she told me that I need to subscribe to Optik TV first in order to qualify for PIK TV and I told her that is not correct but she insisted.  Later, called another number and got someone located in Canada, she could not see my order and made another order.  An hour later, she phone me back and told me she can not get my order to go through because I need fiber internet.

I am totally confused

Is Optik available to you?

There may be some areas in Telus’ footprint which do not have sufficient backbone bandwidth to deliver TV and Internet.

@Toi someone will look into this for you. As the information they’re (still) telling you isn’t correct.

You do not need Fibre or Optik Tv services.. You stated you have Telus Internet 50, I’m sure the area supports Optik tv as well.

Thank you all for your help.

 

I am eligible for Optik and fibre in my area.

The last customer services rep said she will talk to her manager tomorrow and get back to me.  She said the PIK TV service is new and not too familiar with it.
