I watched part of the soccer game on Telus 4K tonight. Did not notice any better picture than HD. Watched baseball on Sportsnet and picture seems better. The Guide says Sportsnet4k but the icon on the TV says SN1.
I have a new Samsung 4K HDR TV, 43 inches and it has upscaling. So is that why I don't see any difference? TV size and upscaling on HD channels?

There’s still a great lack of 4K programming, so often the feeds will be HD because 4K is not available for that broadcast.

I realise that there are not many 4K live broadcasts on Sports Channels now but TSN 4k listing in the Guide had "Watch here for the next Live 4K Event" .
If you check now it says: "Next Live 4K Event August 21 at 5:00pm PST". It will be the second Live 4K broadcast of the Toronto-Vancouver soccer games. The on-screen icon during the broadcast says TSN 4K, not TSN4 or whatever the HD broadcast is. As I stated the 4K broadcast for the first game was not great.

That’s generic in the guide for upcoming events. It always says X event on X date. Unless it’s on the official TSN 4K schedule it’s not in 4K. The match you saw was not in 4K.
Furthermore as to what I linked below “all TSN 4K broadcasts have been postponed or cancelled.”

Your tsn link is dated Feb 17, 2020! Yes, all 4k broadcasts were postponed or cancelled at that time. The Guide is more current than that article.

As I stated before the 2020 schedule was released that was the games to be in 4K. There are no updated articles because there are NO 4K events.
The guide always says upcoming “insert event” doesn’t mean it’s in 4K. That’s the way it has been since the 4K sporting channels were launched. It will clearly say a date on the guide when it does have a 4K event.
