The TV itself will work fine as long as it has an HDMI input the Optik box can be connected to. The problem that you may run into is with the remote. RCA TVs are notorious for not working properly with many set top box remotes since the RCA TVs often use codes that are not associated with old RCA TVs. This is because RCA no longer manufacturers their own devices. Instead they license the RCA brand to third party manufacturers.

Insignia codes generally have worked for the few RCA Roku TVs I’ve setup. But the RCA roku remote is horrible.

Yes our Roku 3 works perfect with OptiK TV

Optik remotes can be programmed to the RCA Roku TVs using code 0021 in most cases.

- Press and hold options until the green LED flashes at the top.

- Enter 0021

- Press OK

I hope I'm not being presumptuous with this comment but since the TV is for your grandma I think having an easy to use single remote (not requiring multiple remotes) is a must.

I wouldn't touch RCA/Roku with a barge pole. After more than 3 years trying to find the code to allow my Telus remote to control the tv (even had a Telus techy try...unsuccessfully) there stil isn't one. Save your hard earned money!
