PVR constantly freezing

It’s happening while watching live tv as well as recordings. Very frustrating. Solutions? Do I need newer equipment? My pvr is not that far away from the router/modem.

Wired or wi-fi? If possible try a wired connection if not already using one.

This may help as well:

Just a long time customer hoping to help.

Unfortunately wired is not an option. I live in a newer apartment that has the equipment tucked into a space in my laundry room.

Were you able to try out FuzzyLogic's suggestions? Failing that, and if it is happening on more than just one specific channel then it may be a hardware related issue, in which case you'd need to call it in.

Have you done a speed test over WiFi with a mobile device standing next to your PVR?

I’m sorry I don’t know what you mean by that. Can you explain it to me? Thanks.

Go to this link on your phone browser and run the speed test while standing next to your PVR.

Ideally your phone should be on the same 2.4 GHz band as the PVR to get any indication if the WiFi signal might be the problem. Chances are your router has Smart Steering turned on so it's not going to be possible to select the 2.4 GHz band on your phone.

What kind of number am I looking for?

Should be 15 Mbps download or higher for Optik.
