Optik tv timer

Hi: I’ve been trying to find a way to automatically shutdown my Optik Tv box at 12am so my kids don’t stay up all night. I can do it manually by shutting down 5g wireless on the router, but need a n auto method as I go to bed earlier than the kids. I’ve tried all the Parental control options on the router but they don’t seem to work for Optik. Any ideas out there?

I haven't personally tried this myself, but it may be worth a shot, I think it should do what you want.

Go to your router control panel -> status -> device table, and note the MAC address of the Optik device you want to shut off.

Next go Advanced Settings -> Access Scheduling, and then enter the MAC address you noted from before and configure an access schedule.

For the sake of testing just set it to shut off in a few minutes and see if it works.

Hope this helps!

The Optik box powers off when the TV is off.  Perhaps put your TV on a electrical timer?  This may mess up the TV's clock and settings.

Make sure they don't have their mobile devices as Optik on the Go allows them to keep going into the morning.

So if I set the TV timer to shut TV off in, say 4 hours, the Optic Box will shut down?
