Optik TV App

Digitalone
Organizer
This isn't so much a question as much as it is a very frustrated complain.
Your Optik TV App is CRAP!
Again tonight all I wanted to do was to record a show this Sunday called W5 on CBC. So I navigated to the show on the app on my iPhone and clicked on the show.
Instead of the option to record I was given the option of picking show times. WTF!
I was unable to record the show without pulling up the guide o. The TV and scrolling ahead to Sunday and hitting the record button on the remote.
What is the point of having an app that doesn't work. I..am..fed...up...with...your...stupid...useless...app...
Will be considering a switch to Shaw something like I'm sure you don't give a **bleep** about.

Out.

Possibly the problem is seeking a CTV show on CBC channels?

I had no problem finding the option to record.

Perhaps but this is what I get on my iPad Mini (see image) which is the same as I get on my iPhone. No options for recording two days in advance. However I can setup a recording two days in advance if I use the on TV Guide.

Also sorry about the tone of my first post but since the app change (company of the previous app dropped it and the licensing) this new app has been so frustrating.

Again, I had no problem finding the record option. In your image, the show is already marked as being recorded (see red dot by both show title, and episode title) which may be why you see only showtimes option in the episode information.

Thanks for the reply. I understand how the app works and what the red dot means. I’ve been with Telus for years. I’m also in the tech industry and although I don’t know everything I consider myself to be pretty knowledgeable.

As for the issue I have figured out that the shows that typically show a record button in the app are because I don’t subscribe to those channels. I can probably choose to show only subscribed channels in app. The issue is that it’s  hit and miss. Case in point. I navigated Monday 19/11 in the app and to The Fifth Estate and selected that show the channel is 100 which is CBC and one that I have as part of my package.

So in the first image you can clearly see the show the channel and the date are all correct but there is not record button.

In the second image I had selected Series Info and on that page the channel 100 for the date 19/11 doesn’t even exist.  And more to the point why isn’t there a record button in the first page. That’s the page that most people would choose a show from the guide.

Baffling. 2E9E19E5-4FE4-459B-9A1E-40F310CCD674.png6961A1A0-43E9-4AA0-A7DE-E4BDD7993D37.png

Interesting. If I use the guide to go to Channel 100 (CBC) 4:00 am on Monday November 19, I see "Escape to the Country" as the programming at that hour. The Fifth Estate S42E18 is on the documentary channel 731 at that hour.

It would appear we are having two different experiences from the same interface.
