New Sony remote does everything but pause Telus tv

The pause button on the new Sony remote will not work for live tv or tv recordings. I have the VIP5662W model and a 2020 Sony XBR55X950H. Anyone able to help me out? I tried to program Telus remote to tv instead and step 1 says to set tv box volume to 25 which I can’t figure out either.

You have to set the TV box to 25 before pairing the remote to the TV. You may have to unpair and set it up again.

Sorry what do you mean set to 25? I am having the same issue.

In another post, someone suggests selecting ‘TV’ on the remote, then increasing the volume and returning the remote to ‘Optik’. This supposedly allows you to set the volume on the Optik box so it behaves better with the volume controls of the TV.

hmmm thanks. Ya literally everything on the remote works except the pause button. I unlinked it and reset everything and tried again but same issue with pause button.

I can't get the pause function to work in any of the 3 ways it should work - not through the pause button, or the plus button, or even when I press TV as i'm watching something to pull up the in-app on-screen remote control and choosing the pause button there.  Telus, can you please tell us why this doesn't work and if you're planning to release a fix?
