Any chance that Telus has a way to check out or preview different tv channels? So many to choose.

No. Various channels are offered as a preview on occasion, but other than subscribing to a large package of channels and downsizing later, there is no way to preview the channel offerings.

The other thing that you could consider is switching up your channel subscriptions to preview things for yourself. As an example, if you sign up for 4 theme packs, you can switch these up every 30 days at no cost. 

As @NFtoBC and @FuzzyLogic mentioned, our content providers do put their channels on free preview periodically, so this can be a good way to test things out for no additional cost.

I found out by chance that channel 5 has the previews in it.
