HDMI Splitter - Your television cannot support HDCP video over your high definition connection H1001

ApplePie
Organizer

I keep getting the following error message: Your television cannot support HDCP video over your high definition connection (H1001).

My TV is 4K and new, the PVR (VIP 5662W) has been replaced by TELUS three times I have tried a few new HDMI cables with no success.

Everything was working with no problems until mid-summer when TELUS did a firmware update on the PVR.  Now I get this error message on a daily basis.

Some people have suggested to use an HDMI splitter.  Does anyone have any recommendations of what would be the best HDMI splitter to use and what I should be looking for when purchasing an HDMI splitter?

I have not used this personally but have seen it recommended elsewhere.

I had similar issues when I got a new receiver (Yamaha). I had to change a HDMI setting on my receiver to fix this. There was a setting for HDCP version used. I changed it from Auto to always use version 1.4.

Possibly you have a similar setting on your TV (or receiver if you are using one).
