Cannot record series on Timeshift stations

Does anyone else have the problem that you cannot record Tv series on time shift channels?

Can you provide some examples?

for example let's say you want to record the tv series survivor . In Alberta its on a 9:00 pm. In toronto it is on at 6:00pm . You can go to the toronto station and can tape the current program. However if you tell it to record the series it will not record the series on the toronto station.  Does this make sense?

I have a vague recollection that I ran into that in the past. I believe I solved it by recording from the American timeshift, instead.
