I see the 4K boxes have Bluetooth capabilities so if Telus had a Bluetooth compatible remote that would be great so you do not need direct line of sight to the digital box

They don’t offer a Bluetooth remote or support Bluetooth currently..

Yes but they should get them. Bell uses the exact same boxes and they offer Bluetooth remotes for their clients.

Line of sight issues for the remote can be addressed with a $15 IR repeater. I'd rather have the reliability and battery life of an IR remote.

I bought the Bell 4K bluetooth remote form amazon and paired it up perfectly with the VIP5662W. All i did is pressed the bluetooth button on the back of the box, then pressed 0 on the remote, with in seconds it was paired
