Amazon does not have their Prime Video apps available on Canadian TV service provider set top boxes like Optik. They only have currently made it available on certain third party devices like the Apple TV, specific consoles, or some smart TVs.

Prime Video is available through your computer's web browser as well as hundreds of streaming media devices, including:

• Smart TVs
• Blu-ray players
• Set-top boxes (Roku, Google TV, TiVo, Nvidia Shield)
• Amazon Fire TV

My parents got sick of waiting and just use a smart stick (Roku and Amazon FireTV stick).  These are cheap and do everything needed.

Telus never promised an Amazon app, nor does Amazon have an app that supports the MediaFirst TV platform which  Amazon would have to write. Amazon only really started taking on the android/roku platforms more serious within the last year alone. That being said plenty of alternative to make a cheap smart tv these days.

Rogers just announced they have added the prime video app to their tv. Can you confirm when Telus will catch up?
