Why is recording not allowed on some channels?

Some channels display a notice that says recording is not allowed on this channel.

Why?

I think a discount is owed because no one mentioned this when we signed our contract.

I have searched the Internet but somehow nothing applicable comes up. Strange I am the only person complaining...

What gives?

Thanks. I double checked and realized that the show is also on a channel I don't get. Just happened that I was selecting the channel I don't get.

Hi there. What channels specifically were doing this, if I might ask? Most channels should be recordable. The only instances would be that you cannot record VOD content, you can do PPV content though. Unless that's the case or there are simply too many recordings/streams going at once, this shouldn't be happening. I would recommend reaching out to TELUS Tech Support, for assistance.
