Hugely disappointed !!!! This was our favorite calendar and looked forward to it every year. Not convinced of the reasoning, and a digital calendar is of no use to me whatever!! Will not be downloading it to print my own on 20lb paper, and expensive ink. I feel the my monthly Telus billing should at least score me a calendar once a year! You certainly dropped the ball this time Telus 😞
I am so disappointed... I have been a loyal Telus customer since 2000 and have been receiving the calendars for as long as I can remember. I really enjoyed these calendars as they had a crisp, clean look to them with ample space to write on specific dates. The cute animals really made me smile too.
I think you really mean that Telus wants to keep the money that went into the calendars. Very poor customer service. And very disappointing.
I don't need an on-line calendar - they come with my iphone, and ipad, and laptop!!!
Bad move on this one.
And, what about the bags. Are they still available, because they haven't been available for some time. That I can find.
So disappointed there won't be a Calendar in 2017. The Digital version is of no use to me as I'm not permitted to download it at work and I always take my Telus Calendar to work to use. It always drew attention to passersby and I would always say "It's a TELUS calendar, isn't it great?".
I too find it very difficult to believe that demand has declined as you always run out every year. Telus is usually very good when it comes to customer service/consideration so the fact your calendar is no longer offered, surprises and disappoints me, a paying customer.
I am so disappointed with this decision. As a 20 year plus customer and a shareholder, I am surprised TELUS would do something so miserly at this this time of year, especially considering how many people are cutting the cord. I wish there was a way to get these messages to the CEO so they can clearly see, how this is making the bread and butter of the company upset and angry. Bad move TELUS, really bad.
What bags were you getting from Telus ? Guess that was a perk I never received and I've been a Telus customer since before the turn of the Century !
Looks like they not only cancelled the paper calendar, but we still haven't received the digital replacement....such a disappointment this year. Let's hope that the powers-that-be have heard all the complaints and rethink this cancellation for next year!
So disappointed! Wrong decision! I've always used one of your annual calendars and it's been a staple in our kitchen for many years. You've disappointed many customers and only to save a few bucks - may not seem very important to you as a corporation but it was a sign of appreciation to your customers and a perceived value to our contracts. Now need to search for a calendar in hopes that my kids won't notice the change in themes - looks like someone else gets my money this time 😞
After trying to follow up on the message, I was told that there would be a new thread posted shortly

Shame on Telus for cancelling their annual paper calendar! I DON'T WANT A DIGITAL CALENDAR! Please rethink your decision and show some customer appreciation for those of us who prefer the paper calendar. Hugely disappointed! 😞
What is so exciting about a digital calendar? I am a senior and have using been using the Telus calendar since the first one went into print. I have used it to keep track of dates and appointments as a back up to my digital calendars on my Iphone and computer. Both of which have failed at one time or another to accurately keep track of things. This is a huge disappointment and like others, I don't believe this is a matter of only going green.
i am able to get another printed calendar from one of my local neighbourhood food stores. How is it these smaller businesses can afford to give away calendars to customers but Telus can't? Telus is not hurting financially.
Well said. I, too, have been able to get a couple of nice calendars from local businesses who are delighted to have the advertising. I guess Telus is making so much profit, they don't need the marketing exposure any more. But they did waste at least a small amount sending me a politically correct "Happy Holiday" e-card - oh yes and to solicit my using their site for sending e-cards of my own. I guess they think that is more impressive marketing than the calendar. PS Merry Christmas everyone.
@RhoLee...thank you for your answer; however, I find this EXTREMELY HARD to believe. In all years past you had to order the calendar as soon as possible otherwise, you couldn't get one because they were 'sold out'. Up until the year before last (so for 2015), you could order a calendar for each phone number you had under Telus....HOWEVER, beginning last year, you could only order 1 SINGLE calendar for each account....so, for the first time ever, even though we have 4 separate phone numbers/4 separate phones AND AN ATROCIOUS BILL....we could only get 1 single calendar...and the reason for that change last year was....DRUM ROLL PLEASE....BECAUSE OF HIGH DEMAND!
So, you are saying demand dropped even before TELUS allowed a year to go by with the change above because now, all of a sudden there was such LOW demand???? Please, do not insult our intelligence...
Please, explain. Low demand is an excuse...and an outright lie. i was flabbergasted last year when I could only order a single calendar and was told that it was because there was such a high demand...and now your are trying to fool us with saying production is no longer occurring because of low demand?
I work from home on my computer every day all day...and I ALWAYS have a calendar next to me, to make notes on, and mark up all I want...Young kids might not use calendars, but their parent's who pay for their bills sure do!
What it comes down to is cost, and even though customer costs are going up...you don't want to continue to offer perks for people to stay with your company...including this calendar. YOU want US to cover the cost of printing...that is the bottom line. Please, do not try to use an excuse of 'low demand' for an item that CONTINUOUSLY sold out and that YOU changed the rules on 1 year ago because there was such a high demand...unless you weren't with TELUS last year and knew that??? I know I was...I've been with TELUS for over 20 years...but...
Now thinking about looking into when our Telus Contract is up...that Calendar was one reason I never wanted to leave Telus...but alas...it's gone. Sad thing is, no matter what the reason...I was either lied to by a TELUS employee last year...or this year...Nice!
Yes this is just about what I thought would happen, and it's really lame. I basically agree with every other person who is disappointed (and smells doubletalk) from the announcement. I worked in marketing for 16 years and calendars are not that much of a cost outlay for promotional items. Even my pharmacist gives them out for pity's sake, and he's a small businessman. I just don't like his and want my traditional Telus one. Soo disappointed but like I said before, I'm feeling it might be time to break off with Telus anyway seeing as how they also make me pay a fee for my actual montly BILL because they have some weird obsession with digital statements when I happen to need a hard copy for my records. So I get to pay for that now too. Nickel and diming me to death. My internet is slow as molasses and I pay way too much for it, same with the phone, I'm just not feeling that I am getting good service for a reasonable price. I didn't mind so much when they'd toss us a nice gesture like the calendar. Outsourcing tech support and customer service to these drone type people that read off a script and keep trying to upsell me stuff that has nothing to do with the reason I call in the first place, all of these things, I'm like, well I think I'm probably done here. I really was sticking around because of that calendar. No reason to now. Bye BCTel 😞 I liked you a lot, before.
Guys lets switch to Bell, at least with them we know we're getting screwed over the second we sign the contract and they don't wait until the last minute like this... lol.
Seriously though, you can't make a physical calendar for the people who do want one? They're not that expensive to make, and the rates of the Smartphone plans continually rise. This is so cheap and disheartening.

I find it very hard to believe they declined in popularity, telus has gone cheap, so ticked off a digital desktop calendar does nothing for me, so thanks for nothing!!!!!!!! Always looked forward to these Calendars it was like a Christmas Present from Telus to say thanks for being a loyal customer, to bad telus couldn't be loyal to there customers!!!!!! Merry Christmas
I wasn't going to bother to add my name to the scores of others who have expressed disappoint in this TELUS decision... but in the end, I had to. Like all of the other responders, I can hardly believe that TELUS would cease this lovely perk, which has been made available to its customers for years. I estimate that I pay approximately $2,400 every year for the various services I subscribe to from TELUS. To be provided with a lovely calendar - which probably costs TELUS pennies per copy to produce - is a small, but very significant, gesture of thanks for my loyalty. A very Scrooge-like decision indeed, TELUS ... shame on you.
Good on Telus for listening to all the disgruntled customers like myself who actually use the calendar.
I was just enjoying the cute December Lovebirds while checking upcoming credit card due dates when I realized there had been no announcement to order a 2017 version. As with many Telus customers, I have had the calendars ever since they have been published. I even turn down offers for other calendars since Telus has the best one going.
Let's hope this potential gaffe doesn't happen next year. It would be wise for Telus to contact all those who opt for a 2017 calendar to be contacted next October for the opportunity to be included for a 2018 version.
I tried printing this from my phone and it came out small and of course without the bottom square calendar component, I am lost!
Thank you! Hope to receive this printed version SOOOON!
Thank you thank you
@Abbie The calendar should arrive at your home in early-to-mid January.

I am very happy that TELUS actually listened to unhappy people and are printing up some calendars. I placed my order and am now waiting to receive my 2017 TELUS calendar. Please, TELUS, let's not do this again next year. Let's just have the calendars available right from the start. Thank you and Merry Christmas! 🙂
This is absolutely horrible. A digital calendar is for PRIVATE use. A paper calendar is the best way to write down everything for everyone so that we all know what is going on. We are 7 people in this house, all of whom love seeing those animals & critters every month...........OHHHH and the stickers, they are just so much fun. The kids love to mark the birthdays with them. Telus, you should be ashamed for taking away the paper calendars that homes & families love so much. I have been with you when you were Clearnet in 1998 and I don't see ANY perks anymore. You could have left the calendar. Honestly, I haven't got much reason to stay with you any longer. I have now stopped referring people to you, it might not be much in your books but I have referred over 10 people over the years who actually became your customers and did so because the service WAS good - Now I and 4 of my friends are always losing service?????, customer service WAS good - Now they always have to put you on hold so they can ask someone else for an answer and the wait time is atrotrious !!!, loyalty department WAS good - Now they can barely make changes or offer a better deal for us who have "Grandfather accounts"...........I never even received compensation for YOUR customers that I brought to you.......NOTHING, NADA, DIDDLY SQUAT. Would you like to kindly credit my account for those 10 people that I referred and took you on as their carrier.............Or could I just trade that in for future PAPER CALENDARS !!!! In fact, I should take the $500 or so owing referral money just so that I can download the digital calendar and have it professionally made and give out copies to some people in here. Extremely disappointed, extremely !!!!
I wrote all of that before I saw the news about a paper calendar...YAY !!! I put in my request and I hope that they stick to their word.
It still doesn't take away from the fact that I'm owed about $500 from them or that everything about them is going downhill.............BUT I LOVE THE CALENDARS !!!
