Change Number of Rings Before Voicemail Picks Up
Call Forward Variable lets you customize the number of times your phone rings or the length of time elapsed before the call is forwarded to your voicemail.
The number of seconds before forwarding can be determined by multiplying the number of rings by 5. For example, 6 rings x 5 = 30 seconds before forwarding.
There are two methods available, so try both to see which one works for your device.
Compatibility
Hi - I have an iPhone 15. Neither of these options work to set the number of rings before going to voicemail. Is there another method? Thank you, Jim
For @jimintoronto and any other iPhone users, I found a reason why the options seem to not work even when you activate them.
I discovered after reading through some Google results, that this is because the Live Voicemail feature of iOS 17 and above intercepts the call after 20 seconds .... It is similar to how an answering machine on a home phone line will intercept the call after a set time, and you can actually put an answering machine in front of your carrier's in-built voicemail solution.
Therefore, if you have an iPhone with iOS 17 or higher, and you want to get the full potential of letting your calls ring for more than 20 seconds, then you also need to turn off the Live Voicemail feature.
Sorry to sound dumb, but are you entering either method's numbers on your Phone or Messages app?
Thanks!

No bad questions 🙂 It'll be through your phone app as if placing a call.
