Will Telus ever launch wifi calling this year?

My apartment is at a dead zone there no reception in my apartment and outside the apartment I only get one bar and very slow internet. If telus not going to provide wifi calling then I have to switch to Bell or Rogers. I live in Regina SK. Anybody else waiting for wifi calling to activated. I dont think they will launch VOLTE in next 2 years.

So.... The real answer is here : with all the things iv'e heard from people in charge of projects.. They're testing VoLTE in some cities but it's not accessible to the public if i remember right.. So the launching of this technology will be maybe before the end of this year or next year if they didn't rushed it since then..

As for Wi-Fi calling, the project since past month haven't been even considered by Telus even if people have request it in intern.. Since then, they maybe have rushed it by seeing it's competitor making it a reality.. But the time it will take to implement will still take some months so.. don't think Telus is gonna be early in this one..

As for Telus Extend, it is a total ruin they literally abandoned the project. Let's say it, it work really great, i loved it in the US. On a gigabit connection with low latency it is even better than cellular in Canada, but the final presentable consumer product is way too far from here : dont expect it to come before VoLTE unless they accept to refinance the project and push it to the consumer by the same time and patching on the fly...

I have high hope on Telus because i think it's a fantastic company but they're not number one anymore on the high end cellular service.

---- EDIT 25 January 2016 ----

If someone could keep us up to date with this one it would be great, i didn't call since then and nothing had coming up.. Also, if i'm right i've not seen carrier update for the phone for a while.. While Bell and Rogers now fully support it across their MVNO (Fido, Virgin..) and even for older device like the iPhone 5C..

Wifi calling is currently only offered by Rogers/Fido. No indication wifi calling is coming to Bell or Telus at all at this point.

For starters download the Telus NetXP app and report the dead zones. Telus does give you the Beta Telus Extend for using wifi calling and will provision your phone. If you actually call support and complain they will offer it to you.

But it all starts with reporting the dead zone in the first place. They called me after reporting several times with the app, they do listen to what you report..

I already reported the dead zone couple of times. Extend app is invitation only, plus you have to open the app and make a call instead of making the call directly. Plus I also checked reviews of the app in the iTunes they say voice quality is not good and is not worth the hassle.

Does Bell use the same towers/signals as Telus in Regina?

I think they both use sasktel towers here

If so.... switching from Telus to Bell is pointless.

Ya there is no point. Rogers improved there network allot, they even launched wifi calling and VOLTE for iphone 6s. I am thinking of switching to rogers .

January 23 ; Bell Expands Wi-Fi Calling to iPhone 5s, iPhone 6/6 Plus Users http://www.iphoneincanada.ca/carriers/bell/bell-wifi-calling-iphone-5s/

I'm really disappointed. Bell is usually extremely slow but TELUS has gone way too far. I receive free calendar from TELUS but they dont care about the real business. I mean, i dont need a paper calendar, i have one in my phone.. So just deliver an up-to-date service, that will be all we need.
