In a recent article (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/telus-ceo-urges-level-playing-field-for-wireless/a... Telus' excuvtives complained that the CRTC is picking on them.
Here's what I think: if Telus, Roges and Bell didn't upset so many Canadians in the first place, the CRTC wouldn't have had to step in.
Any responses?

Retarded like a fox.
They get to play the hero and still benefit the telecoms, that's win-win.
I think the reality is the carriers are just looking for an excuse to up prices, it has little to do with amortization and such. They say it's that or up the device prices - but they ARE upping the device prices. Don't forget that the "minor increase" is to the price of devices like iPhone 5 that are still at launch price 9 months later. When you account for that, it's actually a HUGE price increase. Going to be around $200 for a phone that would've been $0-99 by this time otherwise.
That said, I think it's still important to move to 2 year terms for warranty reasons. AppleCare is only 2 years, the asurion policy is garbage after 2 years (pay more to replace it under their coverage than to upgrade to something new? what??).
And beyond that, if there's one thing that's going to prevent a lot of angry consumers, it's no more minute/LD overages which appears to be the case in forthcoming plans. Bring back flex data and I think we'll be seeing a lot more bill satisfaction even with higher prices. People have proven that they cant handle long distance or favourite numbers or even minutes. I'll be glad to see the end of someone buying a $30 plan and using 4000 minutes and wondering why their bill is so high when they got the cheapest plan.

Im SOOOOO sick of listening to people complain about how replacing there phone is soo much money and how telus doesnt cover the deveice for the full term.
TELUS OFFERS YOU A DISCOUNT ON THE DIEVCE. ITS YOUR PHONE IS LIKE A CAR. THEY ONLY OFFER A WARRENTY AND IF YOU DONT GET THE EXTENDED 1. YOURE DUMB. 2. ITS YOUR OWN FAULT FOR NOT PICKING IT. it drives me nuts how people are soooooo stupid with there phones then complain they cost too much!
If you dont want it to cost soo much dont sign into a 3 year term.
honestly the ctrc did some good things but trying to get rid of 3 year contracts is retarded,
If you look at the new rate plans. there super expensive compared to the old rate plans.
The ctrc them selfs are retarded as well tho.
Phones are only gunna get more expensive upfront and rate plans cost more.
when asked to comment the ctrc said " oh we didnt see this coming" GENUIS. JUST GENUIS.
I won't even waste my time seeing as clueless is an understatement here.
