I thought NFC was built into the phone? Just as Bluetooth and WIFI, are independent of the wide area (cellular) network, I thought Near Field Communications were similarly separated.

NFC its self is bult into the phone however the NFC Sim card stores the actual bankiing information for NFC purchases and it is true that the cards are available however Telus has not partnered with a bank therefore as far as I know the NFC Sim card is nothing but an expensive regular sim card right now as the NFC portion is useless until they partner with a bank and even then it will only work with that single bank and I have spoke with a couple reps and they have no idea who or when telus will be parnering with them so.....yes the card is available but no it does not work as intended
