What the #@&$ is with this horrid email format?

Just Moved In

My email inbox is filled with these messages sent from family members on their Telus-branded smartphones. Is this some kind of sms > email thing? These emails are unspeakably hideous. They don't stack into conversations, and I don't think they are getting my replies.

1. from name is a phone number

2. (no subject)

3. THAT FONT, centered for your pleasure

4. broken images?

5. WHY TELUS WHY

You are correct, it is an SMS to email if the return address is a phone number. The users must be entering or choosing your email address instead of phone number in the application they are using to contact you.

You can reply from your SMS application, or by entering their known email address for your response, but you cant simply reply to the received email.

There question should be why are these people sending you SMS messages to your email address? Emails support a lot of features that SMS just doesn't have so you can't expect the email to magically have that information if the source is SMS.
