Just internet and tv without a phone

My primary residence is in a different province/territory and I have phone service there through Bell. I want to arrange for internet and tv service in Kelowna at my secondary residence but I don't want or need a phone. Can I still get Telus internet and tv hook up in Kelowna without having a local phone number?

Yes. That is called a 'dry loop'(or dark dsl).   A 'wet loop' is an active phone number for use.

It should be no extra charge for dry-loop.

There is still a phone number on the line(not active for phone use) so that Telus can identify where it is.

People who use a dry-loop,  use VOIP or a Cell for their phone at home.

The third party DSL companies(like Teksavvy) have  to charge a dry-loop fee, since the Telco charges it to them for maintenence of phone line.

Hi Softbrez,

As Nasty just mentioned, you certainly can have internet without requiring to purchase phone services. Give Telus a jingle and they'll go over your options. 🙂
