European nightmare roaming packs

I'm planning to go to Europe next month and after I checked European plans by Telus I have nightmares really. Makes me want to switch to Rogers just because of roaming... Telus needs to step up and they need to do it soon!

You want to know a much cheaper and easier solution? Get an unlocked phone and buy a SIM card / pre-paid plan from one of the European providers. It'll cost you a fraction of what you'd likely pay and there should be no roaming there even if you go to another country.

My brother did that. Got a SIM in Ireland. Worked all over Europe.

  Your brother may have been fortunate. The SIM we purchased during our trip last spring was country (carrier) specific.
