Account and Automatic Top Ups

I keep being charged for account top up and and automatic top up. I don't want account top up, just the automatic using my credit card.  I don't actually use account top up i.e. I don't enter my credit card monthly for account top up and can't seem to be cancel that option.  I only want to use the top up from my registered credit card.

Then it sounds like you have authorized two instances of automatic top-up, which is entirely possible on pre-paid. You should be able to adjust this in the 'My Account' section of the website by adjusting which top-ups you still want drawn from your credit card.  Also. once you register your credit card, any top-ups you manually apply are added to the credit card.

I'm confused. Do you mean your credit card is charged twice?

You will receive an invoice, even with automatic top ups.

I have pre-paid.  I have arranged to have automatic top-up where you register your credit card.  I am charged every 30 days as expected.  I am also charged by credit card for account top-up.  I do not enter my credit card number, pin or interac online for this top up method, yet my credit card is charged.

Thanks for your help, I'll try that.

On prepaid you can have your account set up to automatically top up a dollar value from your credit card every 30 days, $10, $25, $50 or $100 and/or have a specific feature/plan coming off the credit card as well. Quite often customers will do both or mistakenly do both. So if you wanted to do $10 monthly, you may have set it up to top up your account with a $10 dollar value from the credit card every 30 days but, also to have a $10 plan such as start $10 coming off the credit card. You would need to decide which one you prefer and stop the other. If you have just a dollar value like $10 flat than you are paying .50 per min for all local calls and .30 cents for text however if you don't use all your $10 than the remaining balance carries over each month and you could build up a credit. If you use a plan like Start 10 you are getting a flat amount of 50 mins and 50 text total. Whether you use them or not and they do not carry over at the end of the 30 days.

To stop a plan or feature once logged in to telus.com:

Plans and add ons > Change plan and add ons > Smartphone > you would just uncheck the box of the feature you currently have on your account and confirm.

To remove the auto top up dollar value once logged in:

Go to Account Activity> Automatic top ups and click Edit > Click Remove > A confirmation screen appears and you have to click remove again and it will confirm you were successful
