Hi,
First of all, sorry for my bad English grammars.
I just bought an Iphone 4s 3 months ago from Thailand. There was no problem connecting to the internet at all.
Later on, I left Thailand coming back to Canada by plane, arriving in Korea for a plane transfer. Still no problem connecting to the internet.
The problem started since I arrived in Canada, I have been trying to connect to my home wifi but It does n't work.
Once I select my home wifi, put a security password and press join, There is a tiny circle spining around on the left beside the network name.
I leave it for an hour but it seems to be not working at all. I contacted telus call centre and they told me that it's not the modem that have the problem.
But I can connect to some other public networks such as public library, starbucks, YVR Airport, etc and there was no problem at all !
Any suggestion how can i fix this or I have to contact apple support ?
Comments and suggestions would be appreciated !
Thank you

Do you have a laptop working or a computer?
Try to access the modem settings and check the channel settings.
You can go to our telus.com/help to check that.
Or contact technical support @ 310-TECH
Or follow these steps:
You can also try another ssid or second wireless name usinga different kind of authentication (use wep if you havewpa/wpa2 now; or vice versa).

If you can only see 7 channels available, I think you need to change the Compatibility mode (also found under advanced settings <1st option>) to Compatible mode; It will allow you to have 11 channels. It will also be compatible with 3 generations of wi-fi router devices (b, g, & n).

The highest number of the chanel is only 7
I have tried changing changing the ssid but still no sign of connection.
I'll try contact telus may be they have a solution.

What i did was
1. Reset iphone to factory settings
2.Set up as a new phone
3.Change the country region to Canada
Once it asked me to connect to wifi I selected my home wifi and it worked !

If you have TV as well. It's more than likely an Actiontec model. The model name/number would be located on the sticker of the device.

I tried putting incorrect security wifi password and it does n't say "incorrect password" But it says Unable to connect to "...." instead.
Same as other networks (neighbours wifi) in my range which I randomly put in password and I get the same message.

Yes, it's able to connect to other places that offering free wifi and it works. I have tried to connect manually but it seems to be the seems to be the same( gets a circle spinning around beside my network name)
Let's see if the restoration works!
Thank you for the reply I appreciate it!

Are you able to connect to another wifi network in Canada? For example at a Tim Horton's or McDonald's where they offer free public wifi. Try connecting to your network manually, by selecting "Other", then enter your SSID and network security. If you're still not able to connect to any wifi networks at all, you should try a phone restore (If your phone is not jailbroken. If it is, your phone will be de-unlocked if you plug to iTunes).
