Windows 8 Phone Internet Sharing Feature

Pickles
Organizer

I have a Nokia Lumia 625 that I'm trying to turn on the internet sharing feature.  After about 30 seconds the device is displaying an error message saying the internet sharing feature is not available at this time.  I recently changed over from a BlackBerry Z10; which I had no problem hotspoting.

Any advice on what to do or what the problem might be would be much appreciated.

Hi Pickles, are you able to connect to the 4G network using your device? If yes, your connection is working so it's possibly a hardware issue. Did you turn off/on your phone already? If you go in settings and after phone update, are you able to search for any updates? You can also try a phone reset but make sure you've done a back-up using the OneDrive application first.

Hi Superfred.  I did try to turn if off and back on and look for an update.  None of that was working, but this morning I tried again.  Turned it off and on and BINGO!!  It works!!  Technology is great.  Thanks for the help.

My Nokia 925 does it just fine on Telus. Do it all the time. So it does work!  Are you trying to do this with WIFI turned on ?    If so maybe turn it off.    My 925 turns the WIFI off automatically and marks it as "internet sharing enabled".   If you recently got the phone maybe push the check for updates button to make sure you are not behind.   Get a phone swap if you think you have troubleshot it enough.
