I purchased a refurbished iphone 4. My current SIM card does not fit. I went to the local Telus store and the employee told me I had to get an older micro SIM, not NFC, as NFC will not work at all in an iphone 4, and they had none in stock. I went back a few days later to talk to someone else and that employee told me the NFC SIM will work in my iphone 4. I realize the phone is not NFC compatible, I just want to transfer my current plan onto a SIM card that will work in an iphone 4.

Any TELUS micro SIM (regular or NFC) should work on you iPhone 4 so buy the first one you come across. The card still needs to be activated. The TELUS store can you this for you or you can do it your self in your online account.

[ Bug report ]Weird forum behaviour for this post.
I logged in, went to the Mobility Devices forum, where I saw xray had replied to this new topic. I clicked on the (2 New) link and was brought to the topic page, which displayed only the original post, but no reply. I reloaded the page, without change - i.e. still no reply showing. I then returned to the Mobility Devices home page, and clicked on the post title link instead of the (2 New) link, and the post with the reply appeared.

I'm pretty sure the NFC SIM will work the same as the regular SIM on your iPhone 4. This post on howard forums agrees with me:

Check with the TELUS stores to see if they have a micro NFC SIM you can do a test with.

Thanks xray - I think I will try the NFC SIM - I guess since I have two Telus employees telling me that it will work, they will have to refund my money if it doesn't. Very frustrating when the employees at Telus don't know the answer! I even tried Telus support on Twitter and they said yes it will work so I have 2 Telus employees that say it will and 2 Telus employees who say it won't!

Let us know how it turns out. The front line sales/support people can't know everything about the products, especially on the technical side. It's no different than any other business. I recall the last time I bought a car I had to tell the sales person the option code to use in the dealer's order system to get a certain little known option. I didn't fault him for it as I knew he probably had never been asked about it before.

LOL - no I guess not - same as when I asked if the text travel package I was inquiring about would work in Cozumel and Grand Cayman and they said yes because both of those places are in the United States!!!!
