Speak to tech support at Telus this morning..he told me that they are testing reliable problem with iPhone esim..I don't understand i already have an Apple Watch with esim..that's works..don't understand the problem...
Exactly. And Rogers has it for business accounts now, so it was clearly not an exclusivity thing.
Dont forget to endorse the eSIM idea https://forum.telus.com/t5/Ideas/eSIM-support-for-all-GSMA-compliant-eSIM-devices/idi-p/92709/highli...
According to Apple, as of today (April 25, 2019) the following carriers support eSim on iPhone:
Telus already supports eSim in the Apple Watch, so... what's the hold up? I travel overseas a lot and need to shuffle sims for local data, which means I lose my Telus line while travelling. I've got two home lines and an Apple Watch that can be transferred to Bell or Rogers...
I travel a LOT and really want to be able to have a local sim functioning when I am abroad but don't want to "lose" my Canadian phone. What is the Telus policy and explanation??? Please help make use of the technology available.
When will Telus finally let me use the e-sim feature of my XR so I can use my telus sim from my work phone and personal number on the e-sim? eliminate a device to carry!!!!
C'mon get with the times it doesn't change the monthly charges you collect!!
I would have switched to bell but my work phone is telus and I am a longtime customer and like the service but I will switch if it isn't done by the time my contract is up!
eSIMs from Telus coming sometime in the next 4 months? According to MobileSyrup:
"Telus and its sub-brands are looking to add eSIM and dual SIM technology later this year. However, Telus could not provide a specific time frame."
I guess that Apple is also blocking carrier from activating pixel 3 , 3 xl , 3a and 3a xl esim?
They all support it and are obviously not Apple device..
Care to elaborate why then Telus could not activate them by Esim?
Think for a second..
To me, video is better than words, but here the summary:
There is support for eSIM from Telus
Telus prints QR codes
iPhones and Google Pixels are both working fine
It should be available to a wider audience soon.
Two years to develop and eSIM solution and this is what TELUS comes up with? Instead of something smart like Verizon in the US that allows you to simply download their app, enter your credentials then load the eSIM on the phone? Instead of something like Freedom mobile where you can simply log in online to generate an eSIM QR code without needing to visit a store?
If this video shows the final solution TELUS is going with, I'm disappointed.
