I got my iPhone a year from May. When I bought it she (sales person in Telus) told me under warranty if I had problems, such as battery not keeping charge, Telus would replace my iPhone. The phone has not been keeping charge for awhile now.
Has anyone done this? Is warranty a year or a year and a half?

For any issues with Apple products, best thing to do is to go to Apple to fix or replace. The 1 year warrantee, as far as I know (I'm in the Business Department) is not dealt with by TELUS. Just for Apple products though. All other warrantees are handled by us.

The warranty on new devices is 1 year, so you've missed your window for TELUS to help with your battery issues.
If you purchased AppleCare for your phone during that first year though, you qualify for another year of service through Apple directly.
Worst case, Apple will fix any issues you have with your phone and charge you accordingly.
Good luck!
