Very professionally done. You should really remove this page and put 'updates to come to Android phones one day, we're not really sure when.' I think I will be switching phones to the nexus devices to actually get updates faster than this half a snail's pace. The Telus experience is not one I'm impressed with. Makes me consider switching providers.

The previous news articles pegged the general release, not Telus specific, as end of Q1. For Telus I did say IF the rollout did start on the 19th in my previous post.
Android in general has widely varying release dates and a history of having updates pulled for bugs. In general there are many devices out there that still haven't received their Marshmallow updates. The worst manufacturer for updates still being Samsung.

@Edmontonchef Nope. My phone is bone stock. You don't have to unlock the BL or anything. As long as the software is for Griffin, it will work. Just download the Nougat version they are flashing in the XDA thread (you DON'T have to flash the Rogers Marshmallow version first, that is only for unlocked retail phones), then sideload it with ADB in recovery. It takes about 15 to copy, then reboot and you are done. After that, you can flash the OTA update in the other thread from Mexico if you want, and it will fix the quiet notifications issue. In the end, I'm running NPL25.86-17-
FYI: I picked up a Daydream VR, it works great! It REALLY heats up the phone though.

@Techjunkie The Samsung Gear VR really heats the phone up as well. I"m guessing the graphics chip in the phones works at full power to do the VR.

@Nighthawk Yea, it doesn't help that it sucks down my Incipio Offgrid battery pack pretty quick. It also gets hot, which adds to the heat
I actually started taking it off when using VR. It makes the phone much lighter.
I think it's the graphics chip overheating also, because I start to see what look like crystallized sparkles randomly on the display when things get really got.
This can't be good for the phone, lol.

i got the latest update for the samsung galaxy s7 Edge near the end of november and ever since the update people i phone cannot hear what i say and or think i am talking through speaker phone which i am not doing but it seems to work okay if they call me. i have tried the Hard Reset and cache clear options on boot up but that hasn't worked either i am patiently waiting for the update to android 7 and am crossing anything that i can to hope that it fixes the problem.. i also contacted tech support and they tried some sort of deativate activate and it worked for a couple days but it seems that the issue is ongoing to the point i am going to run the phone over with my van and put it out of it's misery once and for all as my contract is up in February 2017 i just may need to change to an iphone.. I hope the next update comes sooner that later but i doubt it will

Just received the Samsung Galaxy S6 security update today, (release was scheduled for December 12th) just in case anybody was wondering when it was coming out...

I've been corresponding with Telus about when they will release BlackBerry OS 10.3.3. The e-care Specialist is insisting that BlackBerry hasn't released 10.3.3, but I believe it has.

@just2wikid Did the Telus version include the update to fix the quiet notifications? I sideloaded a different version on mine which DOES include the fix before TELUS released theirs. I assume it doesn't, being the fix came as a second OTA (I had to sideload it after sideloading the main Nougat update).

That I don't know @Techjunkie I never had an issue with quiet notifications

So I see the Moto Z got Nougat a month ago now... how long until I can expect to see it on the Z Play?
Coming from a couple of Note 3s running different custom CM13 implementations, I find Moto's version of Marshmallow extremely limited - can't customize the Power menu (Power off ONLY? No reboot??), can't customize the quick tiles, no hold-back-to-kill-app, no auto-dimming??

Seeing as how the Nougat update for the Z Play hasn't even been released in the USA yet, it may be a bit longer of a wait before it reaches Canada. Canada tends to see the updates after the American releases. Don't forget the release that will be coming from Lenovo will only be for 7.0 and not 7.11.

Hmmm to go with a third-party ROM, or to keep the warranty intact? I've been holding off rooting until the N update but that may be too far off.
Does the Lenovo have tattle thing like Samsung's KNOX?

apparently the issues i am having with my phone is not the phone's problem it is actually with telus itself... dropped calls, blank calls, sounding like your in a tunnel...etc i know a few others that are about to jump to another provider as we are all experiencing the same thing and when you call support they reset it from their end but shortly after it starts again so the nougat update won't help.... but maybe telus should look into updating their systems/software/hardware/services altogether and maybe then they could lower my bill a little...150 per month for 2 phones is getting a little out of hand when there are companies out there that offer so called better plans for 40 per month.....
i know this wasn't the best place to vent but i too was waiting for the nougat update to see if it would fix my issues but it's not the phone but telus itself
