I just thought it was odd that the GS7 received the update, but not the GS6. I'm not having any issues with my phone, nor am I in any rush to update it. You would think if they updated the Edge model, they would update the standard as well.
Apparently there are enough differences, that the basic software is different. LTE or VoLTE came to the Galaxy S6 before the S6 edge.

Where is the November 14 update for the Samsung Galaxy S7? Has it been delayed or is it being skipped? I have not received the update and all carriers except Telus have pushed out a November update.
The dates are tentative +/- subject to change. Not etched in stone so to speak. Once it passes all internal testing it will be pushed out.
Well if it's anything like the last update make sure you have MOBILE DATA turned off. i unexpectedly went to sleep one night and the phone downloaded the last update and all play Store updates and pushed me over my 1.5Gb data limit....... was NOT impressed in the least as it happened at the beginning of my billing cycle and was restricted to WIFI only for a month.... anyhow i hope they incorporate a way that updates will only be D/L'ed on wifi as i have my phone setup that way and it still reverts to mobile data.....and the PHONE gets annoyingly HOT i just hope it doesn't pull a note 7 in my pocket
Are you aware that Telus now offers data buckets as add-ons to your monthly plan, which you can apply on an as-needed basis? Works perfectly for the situation you were in. Find them through 'My Account' if you need them.
Why does it continue to be so freaking hard to get a straight answer from Telus regarding when the next Android update will be pushed to each device?
I've seen all the explanations about manufacturers and carriers needing to test software updates first and integrate whatever UI "skins" they have in place, etc., etc., etc., but honestly, are we to believe that nobody at Samsung or Telus has a better idea of when we can expect an update? If that's the case, I'd love a job at at one of these places, where nobody has any idea of what anyone else is working on and nobody is accountable for getting their job done!
All I want to know is when (or even approximately when) my Galaxy S6 will get Android N. I don't want to be bounced around from page to page to forum to forum to try to find what should be a simple answer...and then end up without an answer anyway!
It's just shameful.
Considering Samsung still hasn't announced the release date it will be impossible to say exactly when. Historically Samsung has a horrible track record of being able to release updates in a timely manner. Every major revision of Android that Google has released, Samsung typically takes at least 6 months to finally get it to end users. Nine months in worst case scenarios and/or for older devices. Until Samsung announces anything, the carriers won't be able to give a timeframe.
With Samsung there is no such thing as a simple answer. Samsung is also testing a whole new custom user interface with Nougat. That means there could easily be a whole bunch of new bugs that can delay it. The only estimates I've seen on Android news sites is that the carrier locked release likely won't be until late spring 2017 at the earliest and that's just for the S7. No word on the S6.

That is all great info, Nighthawk, but:
• My business/account/contract is with Telus, not Samsung, so I expect Telus to be able to provide answers/information. Even if this is just to regurgitate/clarify the "official line" from Samsung, it would be better than the lack of info Telus has historically provided. Like I said previously, I don't want to be bounced around to different sources when I ask Telus a question. I bought my phone from Telus; I pay my bills to Telus; I am a Telus customer
• I do not believe that Samsung is keeping carriers in the dark, as much as Telus is keeping us in the dark. They must have some communication between them with a better status and/or estimate of timeline. So why doesn't Telus share this info with its customers?
Anyway, I'll just keep hitting the "update" button in my settings once in a while, rather than trying to wade through all the misinformation out here.
I have both the Moto Z and Moto Z Play. A couple of questions. The Moto Z Play was listed as getting a security update on November 18th, but I've yet to see it. Oddly enough, the Moto Z isn't even on the list - is that because of the pending Android Nougat update for the Moto Z that was announced this week by Motorola?
