Telus changed over to two year contracts a few weeks ago and as such they raised their rates by $20 a month on average. The cheapest plan yo can get is bringing your own phone so $35 + cheapest data plan which is $15 for 250mb so $50

If you have an older promotional plan, you can keep it when purchasing a new device outright without renewing your contract

There are also several phones availible that have plan requirements lower than $65, however you may not be able to keep your existing plan if you're signing a new contract. Also in, many caes, you can add to your existing plan in order to meet rate plan requirements.
