Note 7 Exchange and Trade-in credit

brentwykim
Just Moved In

So, I've gotten a call from local Telus store (authorized dealer) that loaner device (S7Edge) is available although they have very limited units.

While I decided to stick with Note 7 and wait for the replacement, my wife wanted to move on and get the new iPhone 7, which is coming out at the end of this week. When I was inquiring about it to the local dealer store, sales rep. told me that they won't be able to honor the trade-in credit since special promo such as extra trade-in credit doesn't apply to new release, not to mention whole trade-in promo was meant to boost the Samsung devices.

so my question is, would i be eligible to receive or keep the extra trade-in credit even if I decide to exchange with iPhone 7? if not, what will happen to the device I traded in or it's original credit?

I thought the $200 trade-in was offered by Samsung to promote the S7. I did not realize it was also on other Samsung phones. Any device you traded in will likely have been wiped and shipped to a more central location, so it is not returnable to you. I would guess that in this instance, your refund would include the $200 granted you, due to the extenuating circumstances of this recall, but that is just a guess. How you use the refund is up to you.
