Also if you find that to be annoying then have someone root your phone, then mod it so Data wont work except for when using MMS (But you will still possibly get the charge every month of $5 because Telus's systems somehow screw up).

Both your phone and the other person receiving the photo message must have their data on for it to work

Here are some basics steps you can take before calling *611

* Ensure you're texting a valid 10 digit mobile number

* Validate TELUS network connectivity by placing a call

* Power cycle your device

* Send yourself a text message (to your own number). If this works, the issue may be with the receipent of your messages.

Hope this helps!

Hi, data is required only for picture messaging. Have you tired to remove and re-insert the battery ?

Sorry, that doesn't help.

I can send text messages no problem, but when I send the same person a picture via messaging it just tries and tries to send it until finally it says it failed.

Ive got the Galaxy S3 as well and i ran into this issue before too but its fixed now.

In order for you to send and recieve picture msgs on the S3 you HAVE to keep Data turned on.... yes that is correct, you HAVE to keep Data on otherwise you cant send or recieve pictures.

If you have unlimited picture messaging then you will be fine but dont be surprised if by the end of the money you have a $5 data charge due to the pictures. If thats the case just call up Telus and they will remove the charge (it happens to me every single month.....)

Nothing you can do to get around this. Turn your data on, download or send your picture, turn it off, simple.

Taking the battery out and waiting a minute and putting it back fixed this problem perfectly for me!
