Have you ever pre-ordered an iPhone at midnight?

Wondering if anyone has ever pre-ordered an iPhone on launch date. Was it available on the Telus website starting at midnight? If so, was it quick and easy? In the US most carriers update their website at midnight. You can even call some providers at midnight to order your phone.

Usually you can pre-order before launch date, often a few days before, but sometimes as early as the day it is announced. Telus may open pre-orders on September 12, but we will have to wait and see.

Keep in mind the phone will still be carrier locked until updated wireless code goes into effect December 1st so if you're planning on purchasing outright probably best directly from Apple store.

Thanks for your replies! @canucks4life I don't mind it being locked! I was hoping Telus has the option to pre-order the phone as soon as it goes live. @NFtoBC my guess is that we'll be able to pre-order the phone from apple starting 12pm PST on sept 12 (just a guess). Any idea if Telus has done this for the previous iPhones?

  Doesn't really matter when, as long as you are near the front of the line!  Usually pre-orders occur in time to allow delivery to most locations on release day.

It should follow the usual trend.

Announcement on the 12th.
Pre-orders start on the 15th.
Release on the 22nd.

I always wait till all the hoopla is over. The end of the day it's still an iPhone running ios11 🙂 alll be it you would have a new one first.

I haven't owned an iPhone since the 6 came out. I am going to try my hardest to resist the iPhone 8/X/Edition/Pro/WTF ever they call it.

In reality, once Tim Cook says "oh, and one more thing" and pulls it out of his pocket, I will be busting out the Visa, lol.

I'll pre-order one. If I don't end up liking it, I can toss it on eBay and make some money, lol.
