Can I make phone calls from BC Ferries?

I am travelling on BC Ferries from Powell River to Campbell River. Will I be able to use my mobile phone to make calls during the sailing? I will be travelling on Wednesday, September 23. 

I have an Apple iphone 5.

According to the Telus Coverage Map this area is well served by cellular services. You may need to step outside the metal superstructure of the ferry for best reception.  I assume you will be travelling by car from Comox to Campbell River.

Not sure about calling... but I do get data on my Alaskan cruises going through there.  I think you will be fine.

If reception is an issue, try standing outside.  Reception is worse when inside the ship's metal hull.
