I went into the Open Connection in Courtenay to purchase for my family an additional new smart phone and was told by the sales person that they only sold phones by 36 or 24 months with a contract. I wanted to purchase the phone out right but continue on with Telus as our family phones are all with the company. He told me to wander around town to find someone who would sell me a phone. Instead I purchased the phone on line at Telus with ease and it will be here in a week. My question is the commission that great on the monthly purchase plan for the stores that they turn down selling the phone outright or am I missing something?
Thanks

Hi, it's a good question and honestly, I'm not aware if the commission is greater on a phone alone or if it's better for them to sell you a plan. Normally, they should be selling you device with or without a monthly term, unless they have a restriction. Did you ask to speak with the store's manager? Do you know if it was an independant dealer or a Telus corporate store? I hope that your new device is working properly which is the most important thing.
