@darderb wrote:This may be a dumb question, is wifi calling available currently through Telus for the S6 or Edge?
Not at this time.
Telus was working on a separate project about a year ago called Telus Extend, an App which allowed calls from a Wi-Fi network, but it has not been released for general consumption.

Thanks for the UPD8 on the ST8 of the M8! Even if it's L8 and I H8 to W8 that's GR8!

Hi @A_Kron & @RhoLee, I'm a owner of a Samsung Galaxy S6 and very disappointed on seeing the dates provide below by Telus for the Samsung Galaxy S6. I don't understand why the update for Android M will be released for S6 a month after the S6 Edge. Wow!! Can someone explain to me the logic behind this delay on a phone (S6) that has less software enhancements on this update than the S6 edge?

@kirovnet I was about to say the same thing. I understand it takes time to do a release. And Telus is usually one of the last, but that's because the testing is intense. And I honestly have RARELY had an issue with an update unlike other providers that have released early and had massive issues.
BUT....How on EARTH is the S6 Edge getting Android M less than a MONTH before the S6? This is completely backwards! The S6 is the Flagship! Very upsetting. Waiting this long and then seeing this!
I really hope that date for the S6 is bumped up to an earlier release to at least Match the Edge

My guess is Samsung released the two updates at different times, and Telus is putting them 'in the pipe' in the order received.

The S5 is older and probably won't get Android M until June if you're lucky!

I believe it was announced by Samsung but there was no date related to Canada yet.

Looked through the software update release Nexus was the only one listed security update solely indicating it would be the lastest Andriod security update for the month. All others were included with version update which would mean the security update is from previous months leaving the phone vulnerable to new security hacks. It appears the Nexus phones are the only Android phones getting the security updates in a timely manner to protect us from malicious incursions, hacks and the government spying on us. Time to abandon Samsung, LG and other OEM's who fail to get security updates to phone owners so we are protected. Thought Microsoft was slow and did not care these OEM's are far worse.

Lol ... the Note 5 is more of a flagship than the S6. This will soon be replaced with the S7. I feel for you getting the update next month, but I can't complain. I own a Note 5.

@cryptodon - That's because the Nexus devices get the updates from Google. They are running stock Android. Companies like Samsung heavily customize their version of Android and because of all the code changes they do, updates have to be tested to ensure they don't mess up the existing coding (Samsung pulled a previous update because of this) before releasing it to the public.

I am also wondering why the G3 is now missing. The G2 was given the shaft by Canadian carriers on the Lollipop update that the rest of the world had... and this was after Canadian carriers said that it was on the way. Now that the rest of the world has Marshmallow on their G3's, are we going to see the same shaft from Canadian carriers for our G3's??

It's ridiculous to see the G3 has been taken off the list altogether now.
This is another reason why I wish we would open internet/cell phone services to international competition. Canadians get shafted on every single front.

@mamemame187 @AhmedElMawazini
We are currently awaiting the software from the OEM for the LG G3. We are hoping to release it in early April.
