I have a bunch of ethernet ports I need connect through a switch.  Ive tried TP-Link TL-SG1024D and Netgear GS324.  Both switches keep looping and doesnt work.  The small one Telus gives outs works but only few ports.  Anyone have any switch recommendations?

I'm using a TP-Link SG1008D without problem for my network (not Optik TV). I've also used the SG1005D but needed more ports.

What do you mean when you say the switches keep "looping"?

the ethernet signal keeps cyling around the network. The small telus switches have no issues.

Really the only way you can get looping is if there is more than one path to an end device (say a computer).  The Telus switch might have built-in protection for such cases.  Are you sure you don't inadvertently have two separate connections leading to an end device?  For instance two physical connections from your router to the switch.
