I find the virtual assistant chat to be annoying and so far useless. I don't often need agent assistance but in the past 3 months I have. Each time I have contacted Telus for help I am connected to a virtual assistant who doesn't understand my request and continually offers options that have nothing to do with my query. It is incredibly frustrating. I have needed a call back for each issue so far. In the past I could get assistance by live agents via chat who were helpful and available on my schedule. I can't seem to find an option to chat with a live agent and most recently even my telephone call was answered by a virtual operator who continually gave me help options that didn't match my query. Virtual assistants equals poor customer service.

On the PVR guide, the "new episode" tags are really valuable and a welcome addition. However, there are errors. This week, for example, Strays on CBC and Shelved on CTV2 have new episode tags, but the details show original airing in 2022. Please add the tags to the online guide and the app guide.

The system settings menu on the Optik box needs an option to set the volume to Fixed output at maximum or variable volume. The fixed volume at max should be the default setting. Most customers use the TV to control volume so this would eliminate the issues where the Optik volume is adjusted accidentally prior to programming the remote for the TV. The setting would also give customers a quick way to correct the issue without having to reprogram the remote back to the Optik box and then program it again for the TV.

In the last month, I’ve had two extended power outages, one lasting 6 hours and this past weekend for 9 hours. After the first one, my ONT kept beeping so Telus sent me a replacement battery. After the most recent outage, it started beeping again and there are no support articles to problem solve it or provide an automated way to request a new battery. Having an automated option would be nice, as I’m expecting to spend an hour on hold to address it.

There’s a pile of posts from over the last 3 years all asking to allow users to remove/disable/password protect apps so children cannot just instantly access YouTube and other such sites using the app menu. Sure I password protected the channel but my 3 year old figured out in under 2 minutes how to click the app button and click YouTube- never mind the 5 and 8 year old. It is terrible that Telus has not addressed this. I’ve been a customer for more than 15 years and I’m ready to cancel over this.

Some sports or events, like tennis matches, playoff hockey games, or awards shows, or Olympic ceremonies for example, usually go past the allotted time. Usually the endings of these shows are the best parts, but if you record the show it just shuts off at the end of the time slot and you miss the end of the show. When you set to record a show it should ask you if you want to extend the record time by 15 minutes, 30 minutes or an hour so we never have to curse our boxes ever again.

PLEASE switch your Smart Home Security decals to interior cling decals. The current ones have incredibly aggressive adhesive which make them 1) difficult to place squarely (no 2nd try or adjustments), 2) ugly from the inside of our home, and 3) very difficult to remove. As a result, I've only put up one of my 3 decals and don't plan to put up the rest, which pretty much defeats the point of warning would be trespassers. I just saw a post from 2021 asking exactly the same thing and Telus' cheery response was to "encourage you to post it as an idea here: www.telus.com/ideas ! 3 years later, no change or option for cling decals, makes me wonder if you listen. Seems like such a no brainer to me. End of rant.

Being able to search for future recordings. Example old system you could search for INDY CAR it would list episodes in the future. You could highlight that program and choose to series record. Also you can’t delete an entire series of recordings like you used to be able to. Frustrated with new Android boxes the old PVR was so much more user friendly. Also not be able to extend times of recordings for live programming like a hockey game that does not always end on time.

90 days is too short to keep recordings. Why can't I keep them as long as I want until I've used up all my storage. I like to PVR shows during the fall etc and watch them in the summer when there's no new shows. Your on demand isn't very good and don't have the options to watch alot of shows like I did when I was with Shaw.

I would like more detail and clarification to the OS Upgrade schedule, like Samsung does yearly One UI revisions, aka x.1 updates and I wish Telus would clarify it when devices are set to receive it. One UI 6.1 is 2024's revision update before late 2024's major update (One UI 7.0) and I would like the further clarification be applied soon, specifically the S21 and S22 Series as they are yet to receive One UI 6.1.
