New telus digital box issue : One obvious omission is the ability to extend a recording by a set amount of time, and also the allow default settings of this nature. For example, most sport shows (Hockey and Football because that is my thing) run past the program scheduled time to end. Almost every hockey game lasts 2 hours and 45 minutes yet the scheduled time is 2 hours and 30 minutes. When I looked for the option to extend future recordings I found there are NO options available and no ability to set default recording options. I feel this a basic feature that should be fixed with an update. We should not have to record multiple programs individually after a sporting event to avoid missing the end . When I was with Shaw. I can always record my favourite sports team without other games scheduled. Pretty frustrating when I have to go back and check my future recordings and delete games that I didn’t asked for. For a big company like Telus you would think that you would complete with your competitors on over recordings. Not a good way to treat your new customers. ... View more

I recently switched from Shaw Blue Curve to Telus Optik and I miss that I can’t watch recorded shows on the Optik app on my phone. For example, I am watching a recorded show on my TV with my husband and then half way through the show I leave to room to make dinner in the kitchen. With Shaw, I would just take my phone with me and watch the rest of the show on the app. However, the Optik app only lets me watch that show “on demand”, and most of the time the show isn’t even available yet. When it is, I have to watch the show all over from the beginning again - with no fast forward ability! Shaw’s app lets me pick up exactly where I left off in the TV room. Customers on Galiano Island frequently get mistaken for travelling to the US since we are very close to the border. We get roaming notifications and charges often, and to-date have had to call in each time to request the charges be removed. We have had inconsistent service for these requests including sometimes having to pay all or part of the roaming charges when we haven't left the island. It seems to depend on which agent handles the request. For many of us the Verizon signal is actually stronger than the Telus signal. Please add Galiano Island to the accidental roaming zone so that we don't have to individually reach out each time! ... View more

It would be very helpful to be able to arm and disarm the Smart Home system on a schedule.  For example, to automatically turn on at 23:00 and turn off at 05:30.  My Vivint system did this and it was incredibly useful. It’s been said a few times. I had my one remote for the pvr for awhile. I got a new box 2020, new remote. Now when it’s fumbled or slides off the couch, buttons are pressed. That was super annoying, I don’t know why it’s more sensitive. But the new tech last week, programmed the remote to the tv (now it handles volume) but I can’t change the source. I do this several times daily, I still need the tv remote. I can’t even find it in menu, it flat out doesn’t exist! It can go right above the On Demand button! ... View more

Hi. We just flipped over to TELUS Security and had I have known that this feature was not available we would’ve stayed with Vivint. There should be some sort of way to auto alarm and deactivate on a schedule. For instance on our old system we had the alarm going on at 11 PM every night and then off at 6:30 AM. No one wants to remember to put the alarm on in our busy lives. I’m surprised that this feature is not available on the system it’s kind of a given that it needs to be. It would be great if you could automatically add recording time to all sports recordings. When I was on Shaw years ago it would always ask, when recording sports events, if you wanted to add recording time.   I record hockey games all the time. If the game goes into overtime, or even runs slightly long, the scheduled time isn't enough and the end of the game doesn't record. It would be nice to be able to set it to auto-add 30 or even 60 mins to every recording in the "Sports" category?   I realize I can do it mannualy but it's time consuming and easy to forget in a rush.
