Doorbell camera doesn’t pick up animals
I have an ADV-VDB750 doorbell camera installed. It picks up people but not animals like cats and dogs.
I see no option to set the size of motion or to ensure animals as well as people are detected. Am I missing a setting or is this option not available on doorbells??

I wasn’t aware of that when they installed the system last week. Is there a different doorbell that Telus supplies that does pick up animals? I had this option with my previous system and would prefer to keep having that option.

There is a way to kind of fine tune the ground rules. Can you go into the Recording Rules and adjust the ground zone? Maybe that way you can adjust the height of the objects or animals you'd wanna be able to capture.

Hey Tricia25 - you are not missing a setting, the option to detect animals is not available on the ADC-VDB750 doorbell camera.The ADC-VDB750 relies strictly on Alarm.com's specialized Video Analytics 2.0 package instead of traditional Video Motion Detection (VMD) windows. Because of this hardware and firmware design, its recording rules are intentionally restricted to Ground Zones that exclusively filter for and trigger on People. It is specifically built to ignore vehicles, background movement, and animals to prevent false alerts at your front door.
